The High Vallespir

The Haut-Vallespir is made up of three valleys that run parallel to each other and meet at the confluence of the river Tech. It extends from west to east over 45 kilometres in length and 10 to 20 kilometres in width. The valley has a microclimate that is strongly influenced by the relief.

The Roussillon coast with its fine sandy beaches at Argelès sur mer and Canet Plages.
The Côte Vermeille from Collioure to Cerbère with its emerald water creeks.
Spain is just a stone’s throw away with its local traditions, border shops at Le Perthus and Tapas bars.
The Museu Dali Theatre in Figueras, shaped by the artist’s hands.

Monuments and heritage

Romanesque art enthusiasts will be delighted. A multitude of sites can be visited along an improvised path or during an organised tour of one of the department’s high points of Romanesque architecture.

The Little Yellow Train

In 63 km, the Yellow Train links Villefranche-de-Conflent to Latour-de-Carol. Its route, sometimes high up, offers an exceptional view of the Têt valley and the Cerdagne plateau.
